Wednesday, February 29th, 2012Here’s the second to last Ghosts of Bush track that I’ve got. I’ve been so busy working on new material that I’ve neglected finishing this little edition. Soon though. This one is a long meditative piece made of one track with added “colorings”.

Cult Jammin
Wednesday, January 18th, 2012This should get 2 awards: most rockin abstinence jam ever and most funky instruments (and players) in one video (dig the cz with guitar strap).
77 Million Paintings
Saturday, November 26th, 2011This came out a while ago but I came across it again recently. Looks amazing and typically brilliant concept from Eno. Here’s an article from apple, some photos and video. Looks a little hard to find the original DVD release but something to track down.
as an interesting aside, one of his earlier video paintings from the early ’80s:
Prepare to Evolve?
Friday, February 25th, 2011Is his vision Alpha or Omega? In either case it’s interesting (and Stevie’s with him).
Alchemist Collective photos experiment
Sunday, December 19th, 2010We’re starting a little experiment this week to get all of the artist in the Alchemist Collective to post photos taken on 12/18/10. We’re spread out from Tokyo to Cologne, to many points in the U.S. so it should be interesting. I took my photos just at the end of an amazing Oklahoma winter sunset. In keeping with the project I only posted one of them on the Alchemist site but they were some other good ones so I thought I’d put them up here. Click on the photos to see a larger version and check back at the Alchemist site throughout the week to see what everyone comes up with.

Mellodrama
Friday, March 26th, 2010There’s something about the Mellotron. It’s haunting and creates a distinct mood that I love. I can remember really loving my Mom’s old tattered copy of Magical Mystery Tour but at the time I had no idea what a Mellotron was and how it gave so many of those songs such an interesting quality. Subsequent albums like “Odyssey and Oracle”, “Pipers at the Gates of Dawn” and even “Its a Wonderful Life” (RIP Mark Linkous) have all deepened my appreciation for this weird and innovative instrument. Now we have a documentary coming out that will explore the roots, history, implications and sounds of this beast. Hopefully the movie lives up to the instrument.
White Noise/Black Music remixes EP out 4/13
Sunday, March 14th, 2010I’m excited to announce that I’ll be releasing an EP of remixes from “White Noise/Black Music”. It will be appropriately called “Black Noise/White Music” and four artists have contributed remixes. Czech native Dikolson (formerly of Khoiba) produced a hard driving version of “Venus” that ascends like a spiral staircase to the sky. LA producer Questions has turned out a really thumpin version of “The Top” that’s somewhere in between House and Hip Hop. My bro. Eric deconstructed “The Bottom” and reassembled it into something new and Chase Spivey (of Psychedelic band Ghost of Monkshood) has turned “The Futurist” into a laid back minimal chill groove. I really like them all. Look for some samples soon and here’s the cover:

Tone Matrix
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009http://lab.andre-michelle.com/tonematrix . Just got turned on to this cool little flash based sequencer thing that is apparently inspired by the Tenori-On. It’s more fun than a barrel of monkeys!

By following the link toward the bottom of the page you get to this crazy flash based sequencer thing that is quite impressive. TB-303s and TR-808s + 909s, Boss pedals are all nicely illustrated and sound really good too. It takes a few minutes to figure out what to do if you start with a blank preset but once you do it’s a bit like web based Reason. Future studios on your iPhone (or brain implant) most likely thanks to German ingenuity and start up capital!
